How To Remove Plastic Silver Trim On Steering Wheel?

4 posts in this topic

I'm been trying to find a tutorial or how to remove the silver trim on the steering wheel where the radio controls etc are.

Do I have to take apart the wheel or do they pop off??

Thanks!

There's a screw on the back of the steering wheel for the controls

CBR made a tutorial for this in another topic, here's what he posted:

"I was doing some searching, There is a screw behind each faceplate on the side of the wheel that has to be removed before the control faceplates can be removed from behind the wheel airbag. Then after the controls are free from the airbag cover the plug for the controls can be removed, theres three more phillips screws that hold the buttons to the plastic panel. I'll try and get some pics up, as soon as possible. its currently snowing and freaking cold out side."

The first screw is a torx. I'm not sure what size, but you'll see that sucker buried inside of a hole on the back of the steering wheel. Then follow what CBR said

^ Agreed. Did this two days ago. My screws were Phillips, not Torx, but one behind each control panel, a little wiggling to get the panel loose, unplug harness, etc.
