Lancer Gts Supercharger?

25 posts in this topic

was wondering if anyone came out with a supercharger kit for an 08 gts? I know someone's going to say "just go turbo" but I've been looking into building something unique. The car is my DD so I don't want the maintenance a turbo takes even though I do love turbo. Let me know guys

Only supercharger kit for 4B12 is made by Rotrex and sold only in Japan for JDM prices. Which means you would get half the power of turbo kit for same or even bigger price tag. GTS are not sold in Europe so if U.S tuners didn't release supercharger kit until today, more likely there will be none ever.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I just wanted to clarify my mistake when I said that you get half the power with this supercharger kit in comparison to turbo kit, like from RRM. I did some inquire and the shop will give you a choice upon ordering kit to choose pulley size you need. Max power you can get on your car would be about 300ps.

So would you say it's worth it? Or to just piece together an evo x turbo or ralliart turbo

Well, its still not worth the money maker asks for it due to it being made in Japan. But it has its benefits. A supercharger build would be something unique and different + smooth power curve would be much better choice for cars with CVT transmission. http://www.power-enterprise.co.jp/rotrex/kit_list-usa.html

That's pretty cool. I never knew that the Outlander Supercharger could work on our Lancer

It can have 2.0 4B11 , 2.4 4B12 , 2.2 4N14 TD , 3.0 6B31 newer models have 4j12 engines which are same 4b12 but with slightly different valvetrain proportions.

so the 4B12 that have the supercharger would be a direct "bolt on" to the '15GT?

I had the same question a while ago and someone gave me link to a Malaysian company that made superchargers for GTS. It was more expensive than putting together your own Evo X or ralliart turbo and tuning. Besides, one has to ship from Malaysia too.

But this outlander one from Japan sounds like a better option if found.

That supercharger can be bolted to 2.4 or 2.0 Lancer engines without problem. Type of body is not important, since under hood space in outlander and Lancer are close in size. Same supercharger can be fitted even in this http://www.rotrex.com/Home/Supercharger_Experience/Details?kit_id=ac580fe2-ca86-4923-a477-92f63fd9652c which has same 2.4 engine but restricted engine space.

almost sounds too easy! I know Im new to the Mitsubishi, but not imports. Figured I'd see this a lot more, if it were that simple.

Yes, it is that simple. It is probably even simpler than you think, but the reason you dont see it, is because only plug&play supercharger for this engine is made in Japan and sold domestically. Therefore it has a huge price tag to which you have to add import tax and shipping expenses and installing it on lancer will cost the same as getting ralliart in the first place. During last 3 years I seen only once this kit being sold as used in Japanese second hand car part auctions for 60% of its price and it got snatched the same day, before I could bid on it. Never seen used one for sale again. For instance in Russia only one lancer 2.0 owner got this kit, but before installing it changed his car to 3.0 Outlander. I dont know if that kit was ever installed outside of Japan.

$4900 for a 170PS to 207PS boost? That's around a 22% power bump for nearly $5k, correct me if I'm wrong but that seems like an awful investment. I can get a 22% power boost on my 4B10 for around 1/5 of that I reckon.

That depends on pulley size you chose upon ordering the kit. They offer 70mm to 110mm diameter pulleys. That 22% is from minimal 70mm pulley. I think the maximum is close to 300 from 110mm. Pulleys come in 5mm steps. More power you would get by choosing bigger turbine from manufacturers list, however it will probably have fittment issues. Here is spec sheet for one in the kit. http://www.power-enterprise.co.jp/rotrex/pdf_rotrex/C30.pdf

If anyone wants to see/hear a supercharger on a Lancer, here you go guys. Also, who's crazy enough to try this here in NA?

The price tag converting from Philippine pesos is around 5K which is similar to the price of that same kit in Japan. Therefore unlikely to be installed in large numbers. I found a 2.0 Lancer in Russia that received custom supercharger for approximately 2000 US, including labour. Here is photos of that Lancer. : https://www.drive2.ru/b/2026235/  Not as pretty as the kit in that video, but way cheaper solution. Unfortunately that blog page is of the specialist who made that supercharger kit and not the owners, so there is not a lot of additional information. However, I will try to get more info on that build.
