Never got to add pictures I posted long time ago to my build thread. I just realized how i miss driving my car on coils. I'm now back on tein s tech springs and removed my front lip again. Sold my coilovers because of how bald my tires got that I was in immediate need for new ones. I'm getting a real bad itch to buy a set of coilovers again though. We'll see how long that lasts

Just so clean, very classy with drop and is that just lip or bumper? How is your 7in screen? I used to rock the appradio 2 with unchained for full mirroring and it was great except unreliable connections and such, and required use of HDMI cable or dongle. Been through nex7 behind dash to now made dock for my phone there... Just can't get right.

appreciate the kind word. it's just a front lip. as far as the 7in screen goes, everything works just fine, except youtube and any other apps that have DRM contents wont work unless i activate a hotspot i believe which i currently refuse to do so. i have no reason to pay extra for such thing. but i mostly use it for pandora or waze/google maps. i thought about installing a nexus into my dash, but again, i would have to have a hotspot available to have that thing be useful. it is still in the works just like the same situation you are in. lol

Ok will wait to see what happens

ok, so i just checked the fabric in my car earlier during lunch to see how the adhesive is doing and i must say that it works much much better now.

http://3mauto.com/3m-headliner-fabric-adhesive-38808.html#

38808_main_copy.jpg

it isnt cheap though as they run at $18.99, but i guess its worth buying it. just make sure you follow the instruction

i also want to note to you that the type of material i used is a marine/commercial grade fabric hence using the more heavy duty graded adhesive. if you're gonna use something lighter/thinner, then maybe the 3m super 77 with light coats would suffice.

Sweet thanks. I haven't quite decided what I want to do with it yet but when i do I will use it. What did you use to get old one off?

Ok. A friend of mine here did the same. I will ask him what he did to get it off.

well, here it is. not 100% happy yet. still needs a good detailing/polish as the last thing done to it was a just wet sand. i need to go lower or i just need to get wheels.

next thing i'm working on now is adding an android OS to my custom in-dash. also a priority that came up is adding an alarm system as i've been told by a neighbor he caught a teenager/young adult peeking/scanning inside my car through my windows for a good while. word has it that there was a recent robbery in our neighborhood, so i'm a little bit paranoid right now.

I've always love the simplicity and cleanliness you've kept your Lancer at! And the pictures aside from that most recent one are amazing! I would get that alarm set up ASAP and prevent any kind of break in! Maybe purchase a security camera also to keep an eye on it!

thanks josh! always appreciate your compliments. yeah, i wanna get a viper alarm just so that i can sleep better. it'll be definitely my next to do on the list.

Did you ever get that acura??

unfortunately no not yet. i will eventually. i decided to keep the lancer for a while. i had just paid it off last year and having no payments feels pretty good. plus i have a rent to pay now. but it'll come. lol

its the ARS hl1 front lip. but i just modified it to close the vents that were in the middle. it was made in malaysia and was lucky enough to get them for cheap back in the day. nowadays theyre really expensive to acquire due to the oversized shipping price. you can look up ARS-Bodykits as that is a company who produced that lip. thanks for the compliment. yeah, i couldn't stay off the coilovers after a year i sold my ksports. now i'm on d2's lol. i actually remember you having coilovers until you had already sold it. you itching to get it again? lol

It's been awhile...

I still got the lancer and it hasnt changed much really. Except I ended up breaking the front lip and also did my own retrofit headlights.

The car more recently created headaches for me since the A/C system decided to crap out on me, mainly the A/C compressor. Went through 3 compressors (kept failing on me) which finally on the last one decided to blow up causing to puncture my radiator and the oil filter. After getting this car fixed, I may be thinking about selling it.

I currently drive a 2002 4runner sport edition now which i recently inherited from my late father. Ever since owning it, I've been loving it more and more. Received so many offers from people who were asking whether I wanted to sell it. But for sentimental reasons, the 4runner will never be sold. I do have plans to possibly lift it and do some minor stuff to it, but I'm not sure yet because i am trying to baby the hell out of it.

This is after the first blizzard came through last month. This truck did very well on the snow. My lancer obviously would have gotten stuck lol.

I also started a smaller build that I can work on since i dont have a garage to work on anything.

From where I started...

its a fun little project. a Honda ruckus with a GY6 engine swap. Turned it from a 49cc to a 150cc. possibly doing a big bore kit to 171cc down the road. still got a bit to go first and it is a slow progress again. hopefully, by next summer, ill get it running.

For now, I'm keeping the lancer as a daily until i can decide whether i want to sell it or not. I am lurking around this site from time to time. maybe ill update this thread to my current projects lol.

Headlights look good.  Sorry to hear about your father, but glad you have a piece of his legacy to hold on to.

That GY6 looks like a decent little project

thanks man, it was the family's first car and he took such great care of it so i can only do the same. itll be one of the greatest memories i have of him.

the gy6 can be a hit or miss, so hopefully i'm doing this swap right lol. i know its a carb'd engine, but for the price of it, you cant really beat. maybe one day, i can convert it to EFi lol

I was hoping to learn the ropes with the carbed chevy my jeep came with, but the new frame I bought already had an EFI drivetrain so I'm running that now, was easier than swapping both the body and the motor.  Hopefully your carb works out

well thats good. EFI's are just way more convenient to have and less to worry about.

youre still building the jeep or is it fully running already?

Yeah, I just wish there was no computer involved, I liked the basic electro-mechanical tracing you can do to figure out carbed engines.

Well, it is a Jeep after all...She runs, working out the smaller details.  Still not quite ready for inspection but darn close to it.  I think I finally got the idle to settle in nicely this past weekend, as well as getting a bunch of the hater controls connected.  Still chasing a speedo issue and no dash lights, but otherwise it's mounting the console, doing some custom work, finishing the body lift, etc.  Smaller stuff.

Nice, sounds like youre almost there with it though. Im slowly learning more and more about the 4runner and the whole lifted suspension thing, not cheap, but i never thought id actually be interested in lifting a vehicle now lol.

do you plan on off-roading your jeep?

Are you on coils or leaf springs? I am thinking of going SOA at some point but I'll make that decision when the leaves need replacement.

The Jeep is going to become the DD, but I'll probably do some minor off road stuff.  Easy to fix, but I don't want her out of commission when I need to get around.  The Lancer is almost to 100K, trying to keep some of the mileage down and build her for show

Coil springs. There are so many options.

I'm opposite with what you got going, I want to DD my lancer and keeping the 4runner at low mileage lol

Oh yeah, with coils you'll get way more ground clearance and approach angle per inch of lift than with leaf springs, since the shackle still hangs low out front of the axle, so I'm hoping SOA will take care of that when I get there.  Do you plan to off-road the 4runner at all? I'd be interested to know how the lifted independent suspension works out versus solid axle

i'm debating right now. if i want to off-road, then i may want to buy another 4runner (most likely a newer gen) and do the lifting on it. i would like to keep my 4runner as pristine as possible. i dont have much knowledge and experience to see the pros and cons between solid axle and independent suspension. i do however hear that many are modding their 4runners to add a rear eaton lockers which supposedly helps the off-roading part. my 4runner only has a center differential which i vaguely tried to learn the difference between that and the rear lockers lol

edit:
center differential lock and rear lock have nothing to together lol. therefore, the option to have rear lockers would be good to have
