Wow... for the first time, Duplicolor has impressed me!

I originally had my intake painted with Duplicolor Metalcast paint in purple, but the end result was a little rough and was really thin... So I just let it be since it's just gonna chill under my hood. Well since it's spring break and I have nothing to do, I decided to fix it up a bit. Took some sandpaper and wet sanded it a bit, then cleaned it up and masked it. After 3 coats of the Duplicolor Effex paint, this is the final result. I CANNOT stress this enough: These pictures do NOT do justice! Crappy camera, crappy lighting. No need to get my intake powdercoated anymore haha

thanks! And basically, I used the Duplicolor Metalcast paint in purple, then after a couple months of having it boring purple I wet sanded it and hit it up with the Duplicolor Effex. The Effec is basically a clear coat. No primer, because with the Metalcast paint, you want to have the chrome surface as the base to make the paint look more anodized

Im not too fond of the color, but the job done on the intake is damn good. Very clear and thick. Looks to last a good time. Very good job.

Yeah I was surprised too. I've always had bad luck with Duplicolor, from spattering to just bad quality paint.. I think the spray nozzle is what makes it horrible. After going with Rustoleum, the paint job is 10x easier and better
