  1. Would have been cheaper to have replaced rods and beneficial too, would have changed them with better ones....
  2. World is full of wonders...lol
  3. No,, believe me...cracked... Fractured...
  4. Actually, it was shattered between the ring, and I had a hair line fracture in the cylinder wall... It got worse... I'll get you Picts next weekend, I am not home for the week. Changed the engine myself a few months back... The importance of having it properly and completely tune before you race...lol. I have learned of my mistake..
  5. stealthWORKS performance muffler

I think the biggest mod they do is put a high flow catalytic convertor. You can do it yourself if you know how to weld, or take the midpipe to an exhaust shop..
  6. Which 4b11T parts will fit on 4b11

    Yes...except pistons...
  7. There have been alot of questions about definition files. This is a post written by another member (Lix) on another site. The pictures have disapeared so I am affraid this can be lost. I have decided to put it on here so we have a base to tuning. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guys, let me show you how you could find yourself your ROM ID and enable Mode23. I assume you have Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 cable and you downloaded your ROM from the car. Now you are asking yourself, what should I do? To start building your definition file you should first find your ROM ID. You will need: EcuFlashHex editor, I use XVI32Text editor, I use Notepad++Open your downloaded ROM in Hex editor. Every ROM ID starts at address 0x5002A. Use the Go To option of Hex editor and go to that address. Now you see the 4 cells starting at 0x5002A. This is your ROM ID. In the example above it's 52500008. So you now know your ROM ID and you could start with building your definition file. Basic definition is shown below: Quote <rom> <romid> <xmlid>52500008</xmlid> <internalidaddress>5002a</internalidaddress> <internalidhex>52500008</internalidhex> <make>Mitsubishi</make> <model>Lancer</model> <submodel>4B10</submodel> <market>EDM</market> <transmission>5MT</transmission> <year>2008</year> <flashmethod>mitsucan</flashmethod> <memmodel>M32186F8</memmodel> <checksummodule>mitsucan</checksummodule> </romid> <!-- * Scaling * --> <scaling name="ECU ID" units="units" toexpr="x" frexpr="x" format="%08x" min="0" max="1e+08" inc="1" storagetype="uint32" endian="big"/> <!-- *** ECU ID *** --> <table name="ECU ID" address="5002a" category="ECU ID" type="1D" scaling="ECU ID"/> </rom>Save the definition as .xml file and place it in rommetadata folder of EcuFlash. Now to be able to datalog properly you will have to enable Mode23. Mode23 allows you to read parameters directly from RAM addresses of the ECU, not using CAN addresses. Enabling Mode23 consist of finding 2 addresses in your ROM. Use the Search/Find function of Hex editor and search for hex pattern 65056606B0050042. There is only 1 occurrence of this pattern in the ROM, if you found more than 1 occurrence stop right now! Below is the definition for Mode23: <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #1" address="address 1" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #2" address="address 2 part 1" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="DoMode 0x42 -> 0x52" address="address 2 part 2" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex16"/> So we need to figure out actually 3 addresses. The above pattern 65056606B0050042 that we searched for is the whole address 2. We need 2 parts of it - cell 2 with value 05 and cell 7 with value 00. Look picture below. Point over these cells and write the respective addresses in the definition file. I hope it's clear enough to understand. So now there is only 1 address left that we have to discover. Hex pattern is 65056606. Yeah, you see it's part of address 2, but it also occurs before address 2 and after address 2 or total of 3 occurrences. We need that occurrence before address 2, which should be the first occurrence. Point over the second cell with value 05 and write the address in the definition file. From my experience all address 1 are in range 7xxxx and all address 2 are in range 8xxxx. Ok, job almost done. We found required addresses, lets see how it should look for ROM 52500008: <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #1" address="7f715" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #2" address="8aad5" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="DoMode 0x42 -> 0x52" address="8aada" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex16"/> And now lets update our definition file. Quote <rom> <romid> <xmlid>52500008</xmlid> <internalidaddress>5002a</internalidaddress> <internalidhex>52500008</internalidhex> <make>Mitsubishi</make> <model>Lancer</model> <submodel>4B10</submodel> <market>EDM</market> <transmission>5MT</transmission> <year>2008</year> <flashmethod>mitsucan</flashmethod> <memmodel>M32186F8</memmodel> <checksummodule>mitsucan</checksummodule> </romid> <!-- * Scaling * --> <scaling name="ECU ID" units="units" toexpr="x" frexpr="x" format="%08x" min="0" max="1e+08" inc="1" storagetype="uint32" endian="big"/> <scaling name="Hex8" units="hex" toexpr="x" frexpr="x" format="%02X" min="0" max="255" inc="1" storagetype="uint8" endian="big"/> <scaling name="Hex16" units="hex" toexpr="x" frexpr="x" format="%04X" min="0" max="65535" inc="1" storagetype="uint16" endian="big"/> <!-- *** ECU ID *** --> <table name="ECU ID" address="5002a" category="ECU ID" type="1D" scaling="ECU ID"/> <!-- * Mode23 * --> <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #1" address="7f715" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #2" address="8aad5" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="DoMode 0x42 -> 0x52" address="8aada" category="Mode23" type="1D" scaling="Hex16"/> </rom>To enable Mode23 open your ROM in Ecuflash and change the values 05 -> 23 and 0042 -> 0052. You are done! Save your ROM and upload it to car. Thanks to Lix for this awsome write up.... This work on pre 2010... It works to find rom ID on post 2010 (included) but not for mode 23... I never could find it...lol
  8. 4g69 on 4b11

Yes..it should. Less with cvt though
  9. Wastegate actuator

    I'll check that out... Tx
  10. Wastegate actuator

I can only seem to find higher psi....I. Guess RA guys don't lower psi lol. I did find a "buid your own", (length, spring...) But its from a " less " reputable company.... Let's say unknown...
  11. Wastegate actuator

Lol right...looked at my evo x rom...my mistake...I need 7 psi then.... Did you keep the original wastegate? I had issues with it, could it be the tune?
  12. Which 4b11T parts will fit on 4b11

Camshafts, intake, turbo manifold and the rest of set up, valves are the same, but valve spring are of different resistance but direct fit, piston do fit but require custom rods cause the pin size and crankshaft size is different. I got mixed reports that the crankshaft is a potential fit.
  13. Diy Cvt External Oil Cooler (De, Es)

1-From under the car....it's very tight but can be done.Yes you need to fill it up and you will need more since the cooler and to the total amount. You need to run the car and check fluid levels when warm. 2-filter is inside the warmer/cooler 3-on the GTS warmer/cooler, there are 2 extra tube coming out of it, they are for the oil lines.
  14. What's Next?

Shifter install can be difficult. After 2010, they are not plug and play. Some wires are missing. Not expensive but time consuming.. And some soldering..
  15. How to get more HP?

Evo x cams...or RA...I think they are the same.
  16. C5 Z06 caliper swap into an ES

Why do you want to do that?
  17. Evo X Engine Internals

+1 on that, I use mishimoto cooler with fan... You will probably need the GTS external cooler adapter for it to work. It a must for the cvt if you want to increase power or race. I would suggest better transmission oil to.
  18. CVT Cooling

Ive put the GTS external cooler adapter (bolt on), mishimoto oil cooler with fan and eneos cvt oil...no issues whatsoever...lol Even made a DIY about it...
  19. If your refering to the cvt under turbo, when I was boosted, I never had issues. I did upgrade the oil to eneos cvt oil and added an good oil cooler with fan.
  20. PL Major Update 2016

.....a little lost now....lol looks great and I think I'll figure it out... Lol
  21. Gts Floor Shifter In A 2015 Se

    Woohooooooooo!
  22. I need help on that one...lets do a survey... SHOULD I KEEP THE CAR? SHOULD I LEAVE IT NA? SHOULD I BOOST IT AGAIN? lol
  23. Car is in the garage for the winter. Still have some goodies on it...2.5 inch complete exhaust, evo x cams, evo x intake manifold, got a Fujita RAM air intake... Getting it tuned and will see. Still debating... if with my NA setup, I have fun with the car, I might keep it. If not, either sell the whole thing OR put that turbo back on and keep it... I DONT KNOW YET...lol
  24. I'm Back .... Again Lol

    Welcome back....long time...
  25. Think its time to consider winter tires....
